What is Nadixa?
Nadixa is a prescription cream with the active ingredient nadifloxacin, a topical fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It is used for the treatment of inflammatory acne vulgaris.
Nadifloxacin acts bactericide against the acne-causing bacteria Cutibacterium acnes (former Propionibacterium acnes) and other skin germs. Unlike erythromycin or clindamycin, nadifloxacin shows a lower development of resistance.
The cream is applied 2x daily to the affected areas of the skin and is approved for adults and young people from 14 years old.
Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action
Active ingredient: Nadifloxacin 1%
Nadifloxacin acts as a gyrase inhibitor:
Active mechanism:
- inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase (Topoisomerase II)
- Prevents the DNA replication of the bacteria
- Bactericidal action against cutibacterium acnes
- Additional action against Staphylococcus aureus
Advantages:
- Low resistance rate compared to Erythromycin/Clindamycin
- Wide antibacterial spectrum
- Only local application (low systemic recording)
Time:
- First improvement: after 2-4 weeks
- Optimum effect: after 4-8 weeks of regular use
Who is it suitable for?
Nadixa is suitable for:
- Light to moderate inflammatory acne vulgaris
- Papulo pussy acne
- Adults and young people from 14 years
Advantages:
- Alternative to Erythromycin/Clindamycin Resistance
- Lower resistance development
- Well tolerated
Not suitable:
- Severe nodulary or cystic acne (systemic therapy required)
- Children under 14 years
- Pure comedons (non-inflammatory acne)
Available Dosages
Nadixa cream 1%:
- apply 2x daily thin to affected skin areas
- Morning and evening after cleaning
- Treatment duration: usually 4-8 weeks
** Apply no longer than 3 months to minimize resistance development.
How to Take
Application: 1. Clean face thoroughly and dry Two. Apply thin layer of Nadixa to inflamed areas 3. Easy to massage 4. Wash hands Five. 2x daily (morning and evening)
Important:
- Avoid contact with eyes, mouth and mucous membranes
- Reduce or pause for skin irritation
- Use sun protection
Contraindications
Do not apply at:
- hypersensitivity to nadifloxacin or other quinolones
- Children under 14 years
Preview at:
- Sensitive skin
- Simultaneous UV exposure (photosensitising possible)

Style time: Not recommended.
