UroVaxom®

Active mechanism:

• The E. coli lysates activate the immune system of the intestine (GALT)
• Stimulation of T and B lymphocytes
• Increased production of immunoglobulin A (IgA) in the urinary tract
• Reinforced defense against urinary pathogens

Clinical evidence:

• Reduction of the urinary path infection frequency by approx. 40–50 %
• In several controlled studies
• Recommended by the EAU Guideline (European Association of Urology)
• works primarily against E. coli infections (the most common pathogens)

• Adults with recurring (≥ 3 per year) uncomplicated urinary path infections
• Especially women with recurrent bladder inflammation
• As a complementary measure in addition to behavioural changes

Advantages:

• No antibiotic stress
• Can significantly reduce antibiotic consumption
• Well tolerated
• Oral to take (capsule)

Not suitable:

• Children under 4 years
• To treat acute infection (prophylactic only)

Initial phase:

• 1 capsule (6 mg) daily sober
• Over 90 consecutive days (3 months)

Refreshment phase:

• 1 capsule daily for the first 10 days of the months 7, 8 and 9
• (3 × 10 days, each with 20 days break in between)

Intake:

• 1 capsule sober in the morning (before breakfast)
• Suck with a glass of water
• Do not take together with meals

• In an acute urinary path infection during prophylaxis: take antibiotics, take Uro-Vaxom® further
• Uro-Vaxom® does not replace antibiotic therapy in acute infection
