What is Estreva?
Estreva is an estradiol gel for use on the skin. Like Gynokadin, the body's own estrogen is transdermal and thus bypasses the first pass effect in the liver.
The gel is used with a dosing dispenser or a tube and is very easy to handle.
Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action
Active ingredient: Estradiol 0,1%
Estradiol is absorbed by the skin and replaces the missing body-owned estrogen after the alternating years.
Who is it suitable for?
Women with estrogen deficiency symptoms that prefer transdermal application.
Available Dosages
- 0.1% estradiol gel
- usual: 0.5-3 g daily (0.5-3 mg estradiol)
How to Take
Apply once daily to arms, shoulders or abdomen. Not on the chest.
Contraindications
Breast cancer, thrombosis, liver disease.
Possible Side Effects
Breast tension, headache, skin irritation.
