What is alfatradiol?
Alfatradiol (17α-Estradiol) is a topical drug against inherited hair loss. Unlike finasteride, it is applied to the scalp and acts locally.
Known preparation: Ell-Cranell alpha (former Pantostin).
Alfatradiol has no systemic estrogen effects and can therefore also be used by men who fear finasteride side effects.
Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action
Active ingredient: Alfatradiol (17α-Estradiol)
Alfatradiol inhibits 5-alpha reductase locally in the scalp:
- Less DHT directly on the hair follicle
- No significant systemic recording
- So no effects on libido or sexual function

Available Dosages
- 0.025% Alfatradiol solution
- 1x daily 3 ml on the scalp
How to Take
Apply once daily to the dry scalp, preferably in the evening.

Sensitivity, scalp disorders, pregnancy.
